Joe's Cafe - Santa Ana

Had not been to Joes in 30 years.... Went an a Sunday evening and it was easily the best dining experience I have gad in a long time. Geno out waiter was beyond great, the servers, runners, line cooks and even the busboys were exceptional. Wow!!! Then there was the food. great comfort food classic Filet, Onion rings the best I have ever had anywhere) perfect béarnaise ,Calamari steak... and great drinks .... The service was fantastic.. smooth attentive, fun, professional ...... It all worked in harmony like I have seldom seen. Throw it all in with the old school charm and history of Joes and it was a night to remember. Joes is a Classic experience.... so much more than just a place to eat and drink. Now, I say all of this as a guy who travels the globe eating at Michelin and haute cuisine for 40 years..and who has professional training as a Chef at CIA and Thomas Keller French Laundry)....... Joes is classic that makes you feel warm and fuzzy. The whole place just reeks with atmosphere and the final bill is very friendly too. Its classic Santa Barbara without the pretension found in many places. GO....immerse yourself... slip into the feel of the place.

Joes never disappoints, absolutely adore Denise. Spencer is a great asset, always keeping track of what the customer needs. Cobb salad, clam chowder and fries is the total comfort menu.

Joe's is a GREAT place anytime of day! We were staying across the street at Hotel Santa Barbara. We had restaurant choices, yet we frequently ate at Joes. It's comfortable, fun and classic !

Joe's Cafe is always reliable, good food, attentive waiters and good value. The portions were normal, questionable for sharing.

Great place to please all ages. Unfortunately the food and the service was just average.
