We went there last night for my husbands’ birthday . We were party of 6 . Servers were considerate knowledgeable and friendly . Food was amazing , ambiance was top notch and drinks were awesome. Great place . Love it
Hostess seated a party of 8 men next to me and my date in the backroom — we were the only couple back there and it was just thoughtless and unappreciated
Great brunch menu, but you cannot beat the selections on the prix fixe: outstanding salads, soup du jour a terrific hero sandwich which surpasses the Godmother at Bay Cities! Stellar ambience and service! We went twice this week.
I love Wally's for lunch and thought to try the restaurant at dinner. My recommendation is to stick to the lunch (TIP: check out the fixed price brunch option). Wally's was packed on a Saturday night. It was so loud you can't hear yourself think. The service was on point. The food was ok. We ordered a 5 cheese plate. Generous portions and nice pickled veg, honey, dried fruit, and jam accompaniments. But we asked them to choose the 5 for us only qualifying it by asking for an interesting selection of items I'm not going to find at the grocery store. Camembert was one item and can be found just about anywhere. The remaining four were all of about the same hardness and age, 2 cow, one sheep, one goat. Would have been nice to have different types, like a Bleu or a fresh goat or an herb. Next time I would choose for myself. It came with a sourdough country bread, but I do not like sourdough. My friend does and enjoyed it. My meal was the King Salmon. The server asked if medium was ok, I said yes. It came overcooked (sigh) on a stack of polenta (delish) and pickled, roasted baby corn (not good). The corn looked beautiful but tasted very heavily of white vinegar. We were stuffed and did not have dessert. With wine, most of the time the house selection is the best bet. It's usually something on their regular by the glass menu heavily discounted. The one that night wasn't bad, but not my favorite. Still, at $16 a glass totally worth taking a chance. I ordered a second glass an Oregon Pinot Noir at $28 and it was wonderful. To sum it up, go for the ambiance, the wine, and the cheese and go during the day. Their lunch salads and sandwiches are fantastic and the portions are large.
