Bidrage med feedbackFancied a nice steak when visiting Santa Barbara and so headed to 'Holdren 's Steaks Seafood '. There is outside and inside seating but I opted for inside as it was a little chilly out. The ambience inside was pretty good with a large bar running down one side of the room, booths down the other and tables in between. Some nice options on the menu... I went for the Sauteed Prawns $18) to start which were delicious followed by the Prime New York Steak $52) which was fairly good but not the best steak I 've ever had by far. Service was friendly but not very attentive with no one asking how everything was after my entree had been delivered to my table. In summary it was nice but not memorable.
My husband and I were blown away by the food at this restaurant. The tuna tartar was exceptional, their is a Wasabi sauce and cheese covered crostini's which are both amazing. The steak entrees though, were the real stars of the night. The chefs cooked our 12 oz filet and bone-in ribeyes to a perfect medium. Ribeye was not.too fatty and had great flavor, but the filet mignon was amazing. The twice baked potato was a delicious side and I highly recommend. The steak dinners come with a dinner salad as well. Great ambiance, the restaurant is in a long narrow space so it is a little bit of right quarters so if you can request a booth that is the best place to sit. Will definitely come back here every time we visit Santa Barbara. Holdren's exceeded my expectations.
I really enjoyed my dinner at this place. The staff is friendly and I thought the service was quite excellent. The food was really good as well. I had the filet with fries and my partner had the cowboy cut steak which is one of their specialties. The portions were quite large, but that didn't stop us from ordering dessert! Yummy cheesecake. So good. This is a cool little spot on lower state st. Check em out.
We loved the building/atmosphere, service was excellent but we both found the actual steak a bit lacking in taste, we think it’s because we’re used to grass-fed meat rather than corn but it was very good quality.
This place is always amazing. Food is expensive but always worth it. The staff is awesome, every time. It can get a little loud but definitely a great atmosphere.
