Bidrage med feedbackThis place is always solid. Been around a long time and a favorite of the locals. Stopped in while we were out and about for a brunch. There official brunch is on Sunday when it gets really busy. Lunch today. Started with some of their soups. Chicken and rice soup was pretty tasty! The Grouper Chowder Soup had really nice flavors. Creamy red bisque. I then had Grilled Turkey Express Sandwich. It was very good. Fresh and loaded with turkey. Deb had Broccoli Bites. delicious Sold food and great service.
My favorite St Pete joint. Everything is good here. Great grouper, burgers, hand cut fries. Awesome wait staff. Usually crowded, so come off hours.
First time visit. We had heard great things about this neighborhood classic, and from the front it doesn't look like much. Inside is spacious, which is good because it fills up fast at lunch. We arrived at 11:30 AM and there was a line at the door waiting for them to open. We were seated promptly and our waitress took our drink orders. I ordered the red eye chicken salad, as I was behaving today, and I was quite happy with it. Lots of buffalo chicken bites, chunky blue cheese and a healthy portion of greens! The wife ordered the roast beef croissant with fries and had to struggle to eat half! The fries were some of the best I have ever stolen off her plate! I'm sorry I can't give it 6 stars because it's that good! The atmosphere reminds me of places from my youth, and being 79, I have seen lots of old places. This one deserves the great reputation that it has. I will be back to sample more of the extensive menu! No photos as we ate everything pretty fast.
Every member of the staff was super friendly and attentive, service by MaryAnne was fabulous. The prices for the quality of food and portions are unbeatable. Every aspect of my meal was fresh, perfectly seasoned, came out quickly and hot. The blue cheese dressing was chock-full of blue cheese chunks, the fried veggies (mushrooms, onion, zucchini, and super cheesy house made broccoli bites were very fresh as well as the crisp coleslaw that came on my 4th street grill pastrami/meunster/pumpernickel sandwich (not too sweet or acidic either), I'm not usually a big fry person but they were fresh and hand cut and YUM. There wasn't an available seat at the bar but at 3pm on Sunday they all sounded like they were having a blast with the bartender (not too rowdy but fun) I can't wait to bring friends back! I haven't been this pleased when checking out a new place in a very long time.
Parents beware! Food tasted good. Staff was friendly and quick. However, the kids shrimp meal came with a huge plate full of French fries and 3, count them, 3 shrimp. When I inquired about this, I was told that shrimp is expensive. They charge $18 for 8 shrimp on the adult menu, so $8 for 3 shrimp seemed reasonable to them. Regardless of price...3 shrimp is not a meal.
