The conch fritters looked great but tasted too much like celery and the very few pieces of conch in the mushy inside were rubbery and hard. The small coconut shrimp were fried not to be golden, sweetand juicy, but crunchy hard, and tasteless and at most were the size of my thumb which included a thick layer of the batter. Not even the fries were good. A small, dead, and already dried up gecko under the paper towel holder on our table was not a goodthing either. At most a meh when compared to the other restaurants on Sanibel. I will not recommend this restaurant!
My dad comes to Sanibel twice per year, and we have the core places we visit for dinner, this not being one. But it?s always popular so we finally gave in, and I?m really glad we did. The beer steamed seafood pot was incredible and actually fairlypriced given the quantity of seafood. And they had wings that were truly spicy, as in they come with a warning. Being someoneobsessed with spicy wings, they did not disappoint and we?re truly unique, more of a habanero gravy for lack of a better term.I?m only knocking them a star because my dad?s fried grouper was pretty bad. The oil tastes like oysters (which I love but notin my fish sandwich). Regardless, I will relish the opportunity to go back and get my exact same order: wings and beer steamedseafood because that?s truly a winning combo and both were prepared to perfection!
Brought in some trout we fished and they cooked it perfectly and done justice. The food was delicious and the servers were very kind and attentive. We had Blackened, fried and mesquite seasoning with loads of great tasty sides.Definitely will be back formore!
An interesting busniess model. You order your food and drinks (refills too) from bartender. You then get food from bartender (and forks, napkins etc). The fish is extremely fresh. The soup was avg. very creamy. Took a while, they were packed. Itipped 20% but felt I did all the work lol. Great place to go for happy hour.
Stopped in on a Monday afternoon for lunch we ordered a hamburger and salmon. The hamburger was good salmon wasn't cooked. When brought to the attention of the waitress she asked if we were sure?? When I replied im positive and explained thats cookedsalmon isn't pink on the inside. she took it away come back 3 minutes later with the same cold uncooked salmon smiled andwalked away. Needless to say no one should fish there. Stick to meat.
