Locanda Del Borgo - SAN VENANZO

Siamo andati a pranzo sabato, io e la mia famiglia insieme a quattro amici. Siamo rimasti tutti molto contenti: del posto, della gentilezza dei proprietari, della qualità del cibo e anche del prezzo pagato. Ci tornerei volentieri.

Very small but lovely restaurant in a small village that only has a few dozen houses. Limited set of choices, but pure and superbly made Italian food at very democratic prices.

Huge queues, but after 30 minutes we were able to have our order taken. My husband then stood waiting to collect our food for well over an hour. During that time they continued to take orders continuously and only a handful of orders were dispensed We left without being fed in the end...fraud? The only poor service in our whole three months in this beautiful region

We desparately wanted to find an authentic village restaurant as an antidote to the larger touristy places, and this did not disappoint. The village itself is charming and timeless, and the restaurant makes the most of its location with a decent open terrace on the village walls, with views of the tower on one side and rolling fields the other. The menu wasn't particularly extensive but was good quality home cooking. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the house wine very pleasant. All in all, a great experience.

This is going to be an experience that we will treasure for ever. My wife and I had a truly memorable experience at Locanda del Borgo two nights ago. We arrived to find an empty but beautiful restaurant with a view to die for.This was a very welcome change from the over crowded eateries we have been frequenting during the Italian summer. Our host (Mariaella) was wonderful. We had a menu that was true to the region, seasonal with locally sourced produce and full of flavor. 3 courses with wine and sparkling water 20 EURO per person, the kicker is that the owners grandmother does all the cooking. We were introduced to her and she shared a few secrets with me about how to get wild boar tender and full of flavor. I can't describe the taste and texture of the food we ate that night, other than magnificent, anything else just wouldn't be doing it justice. The atmosphere in the restaurant and town its situated in is peaceful and elegant. I will be back. Thanks for the memories.
