Wonderful restaurant with local specialities and very friendly staff. Excellent service. We had the local special pasta with fresh fish and local desert was like a caramelised cheese with honey and sugar. Very reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit.
Ottimo cibo. Aldo è il miglior cameriere. during a few days in San Teodoro we dined here twice. the food was excellent and so was the service. we had mussels, pasta, tiramisou. Aldo, the waiter, just great. Thanks for the food recommendations he gave...
We have been staying in Sardinia for the last 4 months and this is by far the worst meal that we had. In fact, it’s the only bad restaurant experience we have had in around 50. The venue and location appeared to be good, but unfortunately those are the only positive things. In our party of 4, 3 people ordered pizzas and one ordered a basic pasta dish. All were simple dishes so should have been very easy for an Italian restaurant to do well. One of our party also ordered a portion of fries (I know pizza with fries isn’t exactly gourmet, but it’s what he wanted at the time). Our waiter was very uninterested and miserable from the start, despite my best attempts at speaking Italian to him to try to form some connection. My Italian is by no means perfect, but I am learning seem to have no problem being understood in other restaurants. After placing our food order, we also asked for some tap water for our dog and a bottle of sparkling water for the table, as well as 2 other drinks. The first 2 drinks arrived quite quickly, but after waiting 10 minutes longer, I asked again for the sparkling water and the tap water. Then the chips came frozen, but acceptable. I watched the waiter come over towards our table with 2 baskets of bread (it is very common in Sardinia for the waiting staff to bring bread after you have placed your food order). The waiter looked at the 2 other tables next to us (both with Italian customers who had arrived 5 10 minutes after us), then looked again at us and gave the bread to the other customers. I watched him walk back to the kitchen past where the other baskets of bread were kept and he didn’t reappear for a while. We never did receive our bread. I must point out that the restaurant was around 20% full when we arrived and 50% full when we left, so the quality of the service and food was not a result of them being too busy. Around 15 minutes after the fries had arrived, the Pasta dish arrived. It was a carbonara and had quite a soapy taste. The guest ate 2 mouthfuls and left the rest. Around 5 minutes later, the pizzas arrived. They were covered in pools of water clearly one or more of the ingredients has been frozen. I actually picked my pizza up and let the water drain off vertically ; there was more than an egg cup full. All 3 of us had great difficulty trying to cut our pizza and then I realised that the pizza base must have been frozen. We waited to catch a waiter’s eye to let them know about this, but could not get anybody’s attention. After some time, someone appeared to clear the plates. She did not ask if everything was ok judging by the amount of food on the plates, it was obvious that all was not ok. Not wanting to create a scene in front of our guests, I went to the cashier, paid the bill and left. We then went to another restaurant a few miles away (Il Fare) and had a great meal with lovely friendly service.
