Gastrobar La Salamandra

We hired a car today, drived from Playa de Santiago to San Sebastian just to enjoy a lunch, like we allways does on our holiday. I did check your opening hours on Facebook, but it was closed

I ate with my wife and we had very different views of La Salamadra. We had hoped for a local (Gomeran) wine which wasn't on the menu so went for a bottle of Lanzarote wine instead which was very nice. We were served bread and oil, my wife asked for balsamic vinegar which was also not available. We shared a starter of tacos de bacalao (cod fritters) which I really enjoyed, but my wife didn't like so much. I had crispy octopus in kimchi sauce which was delicious, but a small portion which would have been better with a side dish. My wife ordered steak which came with roasted sliced potatoes, both steak and potatoes where very good, but the plate overall was very dry. Overall I would go back to give La Salamandra another try, but I don't think that I could persuade my wife to go back again.

A small very nice restaurant with excellent food! We had dinner there yesterday, after recommendations to go there, and we weren't disappointed.
