U Catagnu - San-Nicolao

This place is packed, and popular, and gets good reviews. So I expected more. (In the July heats it is also a fast five minutes from two large hotels with many children, so maybe it is a kind of easy access, but nevertheless. I'm eating? My child says the pizza he lives on (serious was excellent, and it came hot and together with our two steak frits. I'm going to do this a bit. (But just a little France and Steaks? Let us say I have done a great number over the years. They were... delicious, delicious, but very hard. So... overall? Less impressive than an average steak .. and poor for somewhere in France. Frites? Poor thing. Greasy, vage overboiled, and cold. Efficient, but humble (And we all speak French with a smile ..and make a lot of mistakes, no doubt. But we're trying. I'll leave it there. Maybe one with the kids for pizza, and who knows, maybe some of the other dishes are better, or we have a bad piece of meat.

Nice food well presented. Their home made clementine jam makes the cheese board! The best thing about this spot is Mario, he adds life and enthusiasm to the restaurant and is always a welcome sight

The restaurant is superbe,ambiance/kwaliteit....super.we visit for more than 20 years in a row,so we understand this location. recommended….100

We took 2 pastas for take away. Lasagne had a good taste and the taste of pasta with chicken, pesto was only sad. Both portions were to small. As a dessert i choose tiramisu caffee, good portion and good taste! The staff is very kind...and there is a fast service.

This was virtually the only place in the DK Eyewitness Guide at an appropriate stopping point on the road south from Bastia. There was nothing wrong with the lunch we had but the dishes had only very basic ingredients mainly lots of tomato in...every dish (and not a lot else! , and although fresh, they were not really proper salads or main courses. It was hot and everyone was sitting outside but it was in a large concrete veranda with not much character, and the staff were pretty disinterested. It looked like there was a nicer shady garden with a few tables but they weren't in use when we were there. It really did not feel special and we felt we did not get great value for money.
