Bidrage med feedbackFive of us, exhausted from shopping in the mercado artesanias, were thrilled to find this little caffe for lunch. we all had the arrechera, which is a fork tender marinated flank steak, with fresh guacamole and cut-to-order. service was pleasant and accommodating as well. I loved the refreshing green juice, and the flan was big enough to share.
Martin always tries to add new joys to his menu. and he just hit the jackpot! he decided to try to add drawn black and brisket sandwiches. he cooks these things himself and it takes him about 9 hours. the results are delicious. The...meat is delicate and the grill looked mild (or hot if they want chipotle. he also added a pulled pork benedict.(with hollandaise and barbecue sauce. it is absolutely tasty and according to my opinion the best on the menu. (maybe a little too rich to eat too often, but if they really want something good! I don't think there are too many places in san miguel that offer drawn black or brisket. but if you find martins, you won't look for others.
Opens 9AM great healthy food, friendly service, lovely decor location. Maybe you can talk Martin into strumming his guitar for you if he's not too busy in the cocina. Vegetarian omelette, Divorced Eggs scrambled ala Mexicana highly recommended. SURPRISE ...Lox Bagels on the menu!
I love breakfast here. They serve a quality meal for a low price...with good service. Breakfast includes coffee, juice, fruit with yogurt and granola, eggs, bread and wonderful jam. The specials of the day are a bargain.
Another very crowded weekend in San Miguel ... long lines outside almost every restaurant near the center of town ... so I hesitate to give away my secret but Martin's cafe is way to good to pass up, cheap breakfasts, small ... feels like the...bottom of the owners home converted to very simple tables and chairs. the menu offers varied items and many where you say to yourself sounds really good, what should I order.... they don't speak much English but with a smile understand pointing with your finger the menu is in Spanish and English all included in the price ... fresh squeezed delicious orange juice made to order, small fresh fresh fresh fruit plate , and hot out of the kitchen in a short period of time ... not filled but close ... combinations of Mexicans, Americans and more ... if you look inside and ask yourself ... should I eat here ... the answer is a resounding YES ! you can thank me later ...
