Poor House Bistro - San Jose

This is a great place to spend time. The live music is fantastic and the portion sizes are very generous. I enjoy ordering the vegan muffaletta and I always have leftovers. The staff is also extremely friendly and helpful.

Currently in half a construction situation the poor house is temporarily 'the poor house patio'. the old building was moved to little italy for a late summer reopening. but the good times continue to live! great music. good vibes..Friendly People..oh...and great staff and good cocktails and fresh cold beer. and wein!

Not sure why everything is served in takeout containers, but eating is quite decent and the atmosphere is beautiful. many interesting menu items, will definitely have to come back to try them out and also enjoy live music

The ambiance at this restaurant is fantastic. Dining in a renovated Victorian house in downtown San Jose is a creative way to utilize existing spaces. The food is tasty and the service is quick. The blackened chicken pasta is absolutely incredible! The popcorn shrimp is a unique twist on the classic dish, not breaded but coated in crumbs of some kind. It pairs perfectly with the dipping sauce. Finding parking is also not too difficult.
