Mesquite And Oak - San Jose

Today, April 6, 2019, three of us decided to have lunch at this restaurant. Though parking was difficult to find, our search was definitely worth it as the lunch we had was incredibly delicious. The pulled pork sandwich was moist, flavorful, and served in a generous portion. The brisket sandwich was also delicious and practically melted in our mouths. The full rack of ribs had a fantastic rub, were falling off the bone, and were enjoyed by all of us. The coleslaw was light and tasty, and the potato salad could easily be a meal in itself. We were unable to finish all of the food we ordered because the portions were so generous.

I ordered a pound of brisket and a rib dinner with beans and slaw. Tasty cornbread included. I asked for the point slices from the brisket and they obliged with smokey, tender slices that had a perfect amount of smokiness and a good punch of pepper from the rub. The ribs cleanly pulled from the bone and melted in my mouth. This was my 3rd visit and everything has been consistently delicious.

The people here are really nice. It's a hole in wall kinda bbq place. The food is pretty solid. The bbq is great, it's fatty and juicy. The sides are amazing. I love the coleslaw, mac n cheese is solid, and I also really liked the potato salad. It's typically not the busy either and I would definitely come here again and support :00 NOTE: There's parking around the corner and street parking as well.
