Bidrage med feedbackWe would always smell something good cooking when at our hotel pool, and finally found where it was coming from! The cocina is only open from noon to 5pm. We were very satisfied with our dinner. The waiters are friendly and showed us the menu options. There are about 8 choices offered every day, and three daily specials. Generous serving of home style food. We peeked at tomorrow's special and will go back for those!
For people who like to eat a little off the beaten path, La Pagoda is it. It's only 2-3 blocks from the Central Plaza. We have been here many times and each time we are the only American/Canadian around and the place is full. Everyone else speaking Spanish. The menu is not written in English and the wait staff doesn't speak much of it either so be prepared to use your Google Translate if needed. Thankfully we speak Spanish so for us it is not a problem. For $10 US we each had a soup, one of us had Queso Relleno, the other had Poc - Chuc, each meal was served with salsa, corn tortillas, rice, plantain, and lemonade (the only drink they serve without sugar). We were so full we could barely walk. We noticed the majority of the people eating there had doggie bags to take home. Great service, large portions, fresh food cooked in very little grease. Can't beat it. We will be back for their Pan de Cazon, only served on Fridays. Too bad they are only open for lunch, not dinner.
We had lunch there the other day. We ordered fish and empanadas en mole.everything was delicious and Portion sizes were huge. Best value for money in campeche. We got a little bowl of soup as a free appetizer which was lovely. Will be back.
