Tekka Japanese - San Francisco

We had luck and waited no minute in the line. the restaurant format is similar to restaurants I visited in japan. sushi are very good, the size of the rolls is impressive.

There was only one party here when we arrived at 6PM on a Sunday and they had just finished so we had the place all to ourselves. I love the design-Japanese modern. There is metered street parking available, but you don't have to pay on Sundays.We looked at the menu via the QR code and were not prompted to create a profile. You can order online, but our waiter actually took our order which we appreciated. He was very nice and welcoming from the moment we stepped foot inside. I started off with the Ahi Tuna Poke which came with wonton chips. The chips were slightly too oily, and there weren't enough. I finished the chips with about 3 spoonfuls of poke left. The texture of the poke pairs so well with the chips though and the sauce is very flavorful. (A bit too salty once you get to the bottom)The dragon roll had great quality. I didn't need to dip it into shoyu as the sauce was enough. The best part of this was the ginger. I was amazed at how fresh and crunchy it was. No wonder it's offered as its own side dish on the menu!The shoyu ramen comes with thinner noodles than traditional ramen, but they were perfectly cooked. This was my favorite dish.

This place is a treasure. Why isn't it packed? The food is delicious and inventively served, the fish is fresh as can be, the service is kind and professional, and it's quiet enough to have a conversation. Wish I had taken a picture of the food but I was too excited to dive in. We will be back soon!

Sushi was ok but BEWARE DO NOT scan the QRG Code to view the online menu. I was prompted to create a profile which I did and then learned it was an ad for an entertainment AP. I am now working to have this profile deleted which is not easy. Ask for a paper menu.
