Palace A Luxury Collection San Francisco

We celebrated our 25th at the Palace Hotel, and loved every moment. Thank you to Mike and the staff for making it a memorable experience.

Wonderful hotel in San Francisco. The service is top notch, the food both at breakfast and in the Pied Piper bar is delicious, the facilities (especially the main hall) look terrific and the rooms are very clean. It was a true luxury experience!

So my review is focused on the common areas and the lobby bar where my girlfriends and I had evening cocktails on a recent girls trip. We wanted to check out the Palace Hotel based on it's American history since 1875 (1909 post earthquake) I believe and wanting to see the architecture. It is truly lovely inside, really breathtaking when you think about over 100 years of humans walking through the lobby and their lives and the times they lived in. We sat in the big open lobby bar area/atrium for a drink, where they served up some delicious cocktails. Staff was attentive and the area is comfortable to relax, chat and imbibe. I am not sure what the rooms are like, but it seems like it would be fun to stay overnight here if the rooms are as opulent as the hotel feels.

This was a fantastic hotel. The old beauty and history of the Palace is preserved, from preserved artifacts such as the old mailbox, restaurant room ceiling decor, and aspects of the elevators (but they are pretty fast! to the special room with photos of its century-plus history. Staff was professional, kind, and accommodating. Food at the hotel was amazing. I am a full breakfast eater and the continental was amazing. The one time I went for the full breakfast I was served the best eggs benedict of my life here. There were no good, buts here; everything was wonderful. The fitness center was well appointed.

Feels tired and has been . The front desk was understaffed and, while kind, spent a lot of time on the phone before helping me. At 6 am the tables in the lobby had not be cleaned from the evening and trash had piled up. Room service wasn 't cleared from the hallway for long time. Elevator and rooms were worn and tired. Walls were not painted well with visible roller strokes and sloppy paint.
