Kula Ice Cream - San Diego

They have wonderfully scrumptious flavors including their all star Lava Cake, Peanut Butter chip, and Union Poop!

The chocolate ice cream was surprisingly made with olive oil, and it was delicious. Unfortunately, my companion got a stomachache afterward.

Although I have never visited the actual restaurant, I have tried Kula Ice Cream twice at the Hillcrest Farm Market. I sampled both a creamy flavor and a sorbet. Personally, I found the sorbet to have a slightly metallic taste, but my friend disagreed. There are a variety of flavors available at the market stand. While Kula is not my top choice for vegan ice cream, it is tasty and made by a vegan company, so I can't complain. The cones are definitely a nice touch!

This restaurant serves some of the best ice cream I have ever had! All of their options are vegan and gluten-free. I tried the But First, Coffee! (cashew base), Peanut Butter Chip (peanut), and Lava Cake (almond) flavors, and they all had perfect taste profiles and textures without being too sweet. The pecan pie flavor was especially incredible. The prices are very reasonable and they also sell pints in local markets. They offer a variety of flavors including coconut-based, sunflower seed, and sorbets. The staff, especially Libby, are wonderful and welcoming, truly earning their business.
