El Cau - San Cristóbal de las Casas

Definitely worth the TripAdvisor fanfare. We had dinner here. Lovely setting on the Main Street with fresh orchards throughout the restaurant and a urban sheike. Wine selection from South America and Spain with reasonable pricing (About 350 peso for a decent bottle of wine) Food served was delicious. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Pricing reasonable given high standard of food, drinks and service. Overall we had a good time and would come back. We would recommend it to others.

If You want to enjoy a great local beer, listen to great músic and taste an amazing variety of tapas and food, El Cau is the place to go. The place is right on the Main st. Where most of the bars and restaurants are located. Do not let the fancy details of the place fool You into thinking that El Cau is expensive, they offer great prices like 2 National Beers for $50 mexican pesos (2.50 USD). Mezcal, Posh (local drink) and a Lot more. I was very happy to get a different Tapa (snack) every single time I ordered a drink. They also have live músic and Salsa Lessons a few days of the week. They also offer a wide selection of international wines. I visited the place a few times during My visit in San Cristóbal and was never dissapointed.
