Huerto Cafe - SAN ANTONIO TLAYACAPAN

We were greeted very friendly, my coffee was excellent and my wife and I had the eggs Benedict, best I’ve had in Lakeside. We got a side of hash browns, again soooo good. Our server was attentive and friendly. We will return.

The staff and atmosphere at Huerto Cafe are very inviting and pleasant. They always make you feel like you’re seeing old friends. But the real experience is the food! Everything is so well prepared and that’s what keeps me coming back again and again.

I asked for a fruit salad and several pieces tasted of onions. I guess the cooks don't use different knives to cut product. Yukkkk!

Actually maybe 3.5 stars. Mask and temp check at the front door. Nicely spaced outdoor tables. Most employees speak more than Spanish. Two cats, one b&w, one calico, add one star. Cats hung out with us during breakfast, sat in the empty chairs, quietly. Add...1/2 star. I got eggs Benny. The eggs were perfect, the ham ok, the English muffins could have been better done. The hollandaise sauce was a mystery. Dark yellow, it wasn’t real lemony or eggeee, but it worked. One coffee and one ice tea. After the food delivery we were forgotten. No one came our way to check. No one even glanced at our table. We had to get up to get the check. Truth be told though, this was at 11:00hrs and they got slammed with 5 or 6 parties at once. Would I go back. Yes. The lunch menu looked interesting. The venue is a nice garden to sit in.

Su nombre hace referencia a un huerto y bien que se cumple. En el mismo restaurante tienen un huerto bien cuidado de donde cosechan las verduras para preparar las deliciosas ensaladas que sirven. Lechugas, coles y otras hojas verdes orgánicas del huerto a su mesa. Pero eso no es todo lo bueno de este restaurante porque los viernes preparan a la vista de los comensales unas deliciosas costillitas BBQ servidas con elote dulce. Y para completar el gusto un trio le deleita con suaves melodías. También sirven deliciosos desayunos con chilaquiles, omelets y otras delicias. Todo esto en una agradable terraza al aire libre rodeada de plantas y árboles para sentirse en contacto con la naturaleza.
