Bidrage med feedbackStarted eating here since sometime around 1995. Last time I visited was about a year ago. You still get great lunch deals. However, the taste has changed in items like the rice and borracho beans. No longer as tasty as a year ago. Rice tasted more like instant yellow rice and borracho beans had no flavor. The steak and nopales were awesome and delicious.
Chose this restaurant based on other TripAdvisor reviews. Don't let the non-descript building fool you. This place is good. They do not serve alcohol, so if you are interested in a Mexican beer or Margarita with dinner, go somewhere else. What they do have is very tasty food, great salsa and chips and friendly staff. I had the #24 Burrito with fajita meat and chili gravy. This thing was stuffed full of meat and tasted wonderful. My wife had the mini tacos and they were great as well. We actually drove about 8 miles to get to the place from where we were staying and I must say it was worth the drive. We were there for dinner on a Saturday evening and it was not very busy. Don't let that fool you either. I have been to much more fancy and expensive restaurants around San Antonio and not gotten as good of food. I would imagine that their breakfast is just as good. The folks at Taqueria Tequila Jalisco know how to do it right. The food was not expensive and you were served plenty. If you are in the area for any reason it would be crazy not to get one or more of your meals from this place. Worth the trip.
We found it accidentally whole searching for food near Lackland AFB. Decor is very genuine even though it doesn't look like much from the outside. Chips were fresh and salsa was VERY spicy. My wife and I were blown away by the simple yet delicious food, served in ginormous amounts!! Cheap, delicious, good service!! Our lunch for 2 was $14, including coffee and soda. I got chicken burrito jalisco, wife got a beef burrito jalisco (smothered in cheese). Can't wait to eat there again if we are ever in the area!
Just saw this as driving by and hungry for Mexican. Food was great!! We were pleasantly surprised and would now recommend this as a stopping place for people who like authentic Mexican food.
We stopped by and picked up food for take out. We had the Enchiladas and Barbacoa Burrito both of which were very good at a not so bad price. We did not eat in but the place did look pretty clean, nice, and comfortable.
