La Rifa Chocolateria - Salvarcar

We went here for a cake on my birthday after a day of sightseeing. I was disappointed by the selection, even though it was just after lunch. I was excited to try some of the cakes I had seen in pictures here, in particular the chocolate tamale, but all they had other than pan de muerte were cookies. Equally disappointing was the lacklustre service. The cardamom hot chocolate was good though.

Yeah, these are bold words. But then again, this is excellent chocolate! Mind you, you can get all sorts of chocolate here, but the go to stuff here is the classic style version (kinda grainy, little to no sugar basically what you use to make hot chocolate, Mexican style . Come here, have some of the hot chocolate, try not to overload on the chocolate you buy to bring back and try to replicate on your own. (Note it turns out that the version you make at home with this chocolate is *actually* good

A place full of vibe for a traditional cup of chocolate. My grandma and mom used to prepare it this way: hot milk on the stove, add a chocolate bar made of pure cocoa, stir until foamy and serve!!! Mmmmm! This place reminded me of that, so besides having a pleasant flashback I also enjoyed a great cup of hot chocolate with my fam. Worth visiting, especially for those Chocolate lovers and for tourists, you will enjoy the place, the location, the aromas and the food.
