Bloom - Salo

We stopped in here for a quick bite during a four hour boat ride through Lake Garda. The snack shop was clean, friendly, and right by the docks and water in Salo. The included appetizers with our drinks were fantastic! In addition to the requisite chips and olives, there were small tartines of tomato and mushroom, rolls with cheese and herbs, and ham and cheese mini-sandwiches. We shared a Monte Christo-style sandwich that was tasty but not hot, or even warmed. We would have been better off to stick with the included apps.

We just stopped in for a cocktail....which comes with nibbles at no extra cost. We had the Island Bloom cocktail which is delicious. This is both colourful and tasty. The staff were efficient and friendly. We tried everywhere to get this same cocktail but it must be the specialitty of the Bloom Bar so we couldn't ... I intend making it at home though.

When we decided to head over the lake to Salo we had no particular plans for where to lunch. Most of the time in Italy it's hard to go far wrong. This time it would have been hard to be better. Situated on the front, Bloom is in a great location but doesn't charge like many places that you find in these locations in tourist towns and the price for lunch was reasonable... better still the food was great, we had the lasagne al forno and a light pizza like dish that had fresh tomatoes burrata and a basil powder that was simply delicious. Service too was good, unfussy and quick, and the spritz was not the watered-down version many places would make. As the staff T-Shirt says, it's f*cking good... I can only give a total recommendation.

Always friendly with good drinks menu. Love going there. Snacks are simple (but smaller than previously) with crisps/ nuts/ olives. My favourite bar on the lake front.

This is our bar of choice when we are in Salo'. English speaking waiter as well as great choice of drinks with excellent nibbles. Free wi fi too.
