Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I were excited to eat here. We were looking forward to them opening today. Our first server was so slow that it took half an hour to get drinks. Then we sat for another half hour with the menus. Finally a different server came and took our order. I asked if we could get an appetizer first and he said it would probably come out the same time as our meal so we didn't. I ordered a Fritz salad, with ahi tuna and grilled baguette. My husband ordered a hot meal. The server brought the bread right out. I said I wanted the bread with my meal. He said, you get it whenever it is ready. Later he brought my salad and much later my husband's meal. The bread was cold and dry. The salad was lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes for $14. The ahi was scant for an extra $9. The place was a hot mess. I have recommended this restaurant to many friends who travel to Salida. We won't do that again.
What a great find! I was in Salida on a spur of the moment vacay so I didn't do much research on where to eat and drank. I was on the street corner Googling places to find a good burger. A lady came up to me and asked if I needed help finding sometning....I told her I wanted a good burger. She recommened The Fritz, and a few other spots in town. After doing a little research online I decided to pop into The Fritz because it was literally the 50 ft from where I was standing. I walked in to find the lady that recommended it was an employee there LOL. But what a great recommendation...I had the smashburger, which was excellent and exceeded my expectations (because Colorado in general has bland food everywhere, but this was good! , and a few cocktails. They even had Fernet Branca, which to me, is the mark of a bar that is SERIOUS about it's drinks. Nice interior, friendly bartenders, and great cocktails...highly recommended!
The truffle fries were underwhelming to the point that I wish I had just left after over paying for a cocktail, the 2-tops were so close to each other that the other guests made a joke about joking us for dinner and the jokes continued once they received a cocktail with so much ice that it actually shocked me. The limited menu looked interesting, but the price point was a little silly even for a mountain town. I wish I had looked at the reviews before going and seeing the owner’s responses to any criticism. This place just seems to miss the mark and it’s hard to support somewhere where the owner snaps at any review in such a childish manner. A pricey lesson learned.
Really disappointing. Chicken underdone, dry burgers, French onion with no flavor. I heard great things, but we will most likely not be back.
I had the Calabrian Chicken and the yuzu tart. Absolutely delicious!! The chicken was “fall off the bone” tender. I’m not a dessert person, but I finished that tart super quickly. Also tried my boyfriends blueberry lavender bread pudding. He almost inhaled it. Great choice for a nice evening.
