Bidrage med feedbackI see some of the reviews are a 3 or so, I have to say our experience was most definitely a 5. This is a small restaurant in a small town that is not trying to pretend to be anything else. The food, while not complex dishes they were well prepared, tasty and filling. The service was great, one women basically took care of the entire restaurant, she never appeared rushed and was always attentive. There were four in our party and everyone agreed the food, service and ambience were all first rate. They have an amazing assortment of pastries for dessert, all baked by our wait person. One of us had dessert and we all had to try it and loved it. All in all, I do not think you can go wrong. If you want upscale and fancy then go elsewhere. If you want great food, attentive service and to be part of a warm friendly ambience then this is the place.
Stopped in saint mere-eglise for lunch as part of the Normandy D day landings tour., my partner and I decided to give this reataraunt a try and were very pleased that we did. We had the dish of the day which was very tasty and tried the deserts made by their very own pastry chef…….they were deliscious. All the staff were very friendly and spoke English. Would recommend.
If truth be told St Mere Eglise closes down at 9pm so we found this place by accident. We ended up eating here every night and the food was exceptional. We were a group of 8 motorcyclists and were attended to by the lovely Natalie who also makes the stunning desserts. She speaks English which saved us mangling her language. Well worth a visit if you’re passing that way.
We booked yesterday to come here tonight because we know that on Sundays there are not some restaurants in France open for dinner. then I read the TA reviews and to be honest, I almost cancelled on the strength of them. After I just spent a delightful evening at the restaurant, I am very glad that we decided to be guided by our own instincts. it is an old style mom pop' restaurant that used to the backbone of daily restaurants in france. mama has total control over the kitchen, dad handles in front of the house and her daughter offers charming and efficient service. between them they had total control over an almost full-fledged restaurant without unsatisfied customers, no dramatics and no mistakes. we enjoyed it all, for the first time in years we went through a very delicious 3 course menu for €18.50 washed with a kir aperatif, a good bottle muscadet, caffe noir and excellent calvados rounded off a very pleasant evening. if we had criticism, it would not be about eating or service, but to work the ambiente. a few dimmer switches and a candle or two would transform the space for evening service.
Good welcome and warm, quick service meals are homemade and excellent we highly recommend
