Bidrage med feedbackRestaurant located in outskirts of Pontivy. Small car park in front of restaurant and on road parking. Super friendly owners and staff. Nice modern decor..hadn’t booked and despite being nearly full was kindly found a table. A La carte menu predominantly of traditional galettes and crepes. There is also a super set menu just under €30 which was excellent value including two main course galettes and sides set ..a substantial meal of traditional Breton food. Well worth a visit if visiting Pontivy.
This was our first experience of Brittany crepes. Once again we followed the recommendations from trip advisor and made a reservation. We had a very friendly welcome and were made to feel at home immediately. The staff our great. I chose one with salmon, cheese, parsley and garlic whilst my partner had pear, Roquefort, walnuts and honey. Oh my goodness how delicious were these! After a brief pause I decided to go for a dessert. Lemon curd, chantilly and crushed meringue. I was in dessert heaven. It only took one spoonful for my partner (who incidentally had just said that she was completely full! to order one herself. We were extremely happy to find this gem in Pontivy and would highly recommend it.
I have been here numerous times and it is accepted as one of the better creperies in the environs of Pontivy. I actually agree with that! However why people manage to get excited by these places continues to baffle me. The savoury crepes,or galettes de ble noir are made from buckwheat and are griddled to a crispness. The fillings are largely dictated by rather boring contents which vary little from creperie to creperie. Ask them to add something not on the menu for that item and it 's like asking for the moon. The other issue is that the fillings would never weigh more that 100 grams which when the galette comes in at 7 or 8 euros makes the whole thing extortionate. A 'salad ' to accompany consists of a few lettuce leaves sprinkled with vinaigrette. Please don 't get me wrong, the tastes and textures are pleasant enough but they are hardly gourmet and certainly not gourmand!! and very expensive! You can get an excellent 5 course meal with wine in Pontivys ' relais for less than €11 so I guess the choice of yours. The ambiance at the Sarrazin is nothing to write home about, the tables are sparse like a canteen with paper place mats and serviettes. A bottle of very ordinary cidre, (the traditional accompaniment to galettes) will cost you more than 8 euros. All in all, try the creperies, this is quite a decent one but nothing to get orgasmic about.
The place is a little difficult to find but you can easily park once on site. we were well received and comfortablely installed. the room is clear but without identity, it is cruelly lacking on this Breton side that we thought we would find. However, the meal was good even if we found that the cakes were missing a little taste but it is very subjective. the menu at 15€ is impeccable except the coffee that leaves to be desired. The staff is nice and smiling.
Excellent cakes and pancakes, never disappointed by quality and quantity.Very good reception. A little too hot in the room.
