Bidrage med feedbackStopped here for lunch whilst wandering around the harbour area. Not particularly great for a simple lunch - more suitable for evenings but then most places in the area are like that. I opted for a starter – foie gras which was very good. My wife went for a Caesar salad which was enormous and didn't really look like any Caesar salad I'd seen before. She didn't rate it and ended up leaving most of it. Friendly enough service but wouldn't go back.
We have visited this establishment many times, normally for petit dejeuner on a Sunday morning when we get the opportunity. My wife and I called in for drinks the other day with two friends of ours and as always we got the usual decent service but a wonderful view of the port.
This restaurant is located on the marina side along with several other restaurants and a few shops. The summer evening ambience is great, assisted by a strolling band and the movement of large yachts in an out of the harbour. The service was a bit brusque but efficient. Our food was fine, nothing special. I had the grilled prawns - there were a whole three and a little rice so didn't think it was value for money having had a dozen or more for the same money in Spain a few days before.
I found it useful to leave my husband to order our morning coffees and croissants and then he would sit underneath a parasol, watching others with more money than we do climbing frrom their yachts to buy their coffees from the very same place as we did.How to be a poser on the cheap ! There's a convenient newspaper, gifts and postcard shop right next door to this cafe,so I would stock up,then we would while away time with me writing feverishly, husband still looking out for passers by.Perfect start to the morning.
