Bistro La Nivelle

Outstanding food. Great service. Extremely recommended. What more do I need to say. Try it for yourself, the pudding was mind blowing.

We happened upon this restaurant on our first night in town and were wowed by the excellent cuisine and the outgoing staff. The owner saw us looking at the menu on the sidewalk and invited us in. We were so impressed the first night that we returned for lunch the next day and then for dinner again a couple of nights later. I really think these are among the best meals I've ever tasted!

The bistro La Nivelle is a great restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere and lovely decor. The food is outstanding, not what you would normally expect in a bistro. The service was efficient and very friendly. Highly recommended!

We just happened on this wonderful small restaurant today while walking around Saint Pee Sur Nivelle looking for a bite of lunch. The menu on the chalk board out front looked interesting and the place was almost full. . . always a good sign. We were welcomed inside by 2 smiling young ladies who explained our choices in excellent English. We opted for the set menu of an appetizer of prawns in a citrus, curry, coconut sauce . . . and a main of sauteed Salmon on top of mashed potatoes with cheese and a little Spinach. . . to split . WOW! We were most pleasantly surprised! Every bite was as good as dishes we 've enjoyed in Paris, London, or San Francisco. A glass of good Navarra Rose and we were in heaven. . . with a total bill of less than 20 Euros! PERFECTION!

We were treated very well here and had a lovely lunch with fresh local ingredients. Some of the food is tapas style and really well-executed. They also cater well to families with children.
