La Cantina Del Viandante - Saint-marcel

This restaurant is in an unexpected location, up a hill and behind a church. We got there late and were pretty sure we had missed dinner, but found it and were welcomed so graciously by the lovely family running it. The waitress was exquisite, so friendly and charming. The food was perfection!! The wine was local and so good. We have been in Europe for 13 days so far and this is the best restaurant experience we have had. WE cannot say enough good things about this place and would highly recommend it to anyone. Don't miss this hidden gem!!!!!

We came to this place for lunch after searching through Tripadvisor but to find out that they were closed due to problems with their water pipe. However, instead of sending us away, they explained the situation and offered to cook some simple salad and pasta for us. I had the best pasta with tomato sauce ever! Will certainly come back! And the setting is just tranquil at lunch time under the sun!
