Bidrage med feedbackLarge small unpretentious family business restaurant, very reasonable fixed price menu and very good value house wine. a small menu with traditional farewell (cheek, candy, steak, andouilette) without vegetarian option, but they made an omelette. starters were local oysters, goatse salat, quiche or melone and ham.
I wanted a traditional French meal, and we had one. plat du jour did not disappoint. 5 choices of the stater main course and dessert. we had the oysters and lapin pate to start fish and lamb dishes for the pornstars, although each of the 5 would be in offer...have great, a large piece of apricot tea for dessert( 2 podons) and 2 beer. the food was under 40e. will return next trip.
Excellent midday formula of 3 courses plentiful, good quality eating for 17.50 as they would expect the fish starter and the main course were super fresh. very recommended cozy dining from the beaten tourist route.
We found La Mouette just by chance having asked someone on the way out if he recommended it... which he did wholeheartedly! A wonderful little restaurant off the tourist trail, offering a limited but fresh and very tasty selection of the best local food cooked...with great skill. I'd say the skate wing in butter and capers was the best I've ever eaten. This is a great place for a lunchtime treat at a very fair price with polite, attentive staff and friendly fellow diners. I'd go back in a instant!
Do make sure at busy times you book, this is not a large restaurant. It is located in St Servan in a street behind the beach promenade, so not obvious to find. Close enough to walk from Ferry Port, or Cite d'Aleth or even from...walled city. Great value for money and good home cooking, menu of the day is around Euro 13 14. Almost like being in a french home dining room. We visited one evening with a friend who lives in the same street, which is how we knew about it.
