Le Cheval Blanc

We came here because everywhere else was closed in St-Maixent , we were the only ones in the restaurant yet we received a very warm welcome from the chef and the waitress.Don't expect fine dining but it was tasty ,especially the gizzards and we enjoyed it.

Booked for 9 but only 7 dined. Very friendly and helpful (no English) waitress 'chef. Food was good standard and with a nice break between courses. Apart from 1 (12 yr old) all very much enjoyedvand also attempted to cater for some 'difficult ' dietary needs. After dinner drink in shot glasses, interesting!

We went to this restaurant by chance and were not disappointed. The welcome was pleasant and simple but good dishes. Very good memory

Service a little light...it is also displayed at the entrance of the restaurant that it lacks a waitress. otherwise the meal is honest in the whole except the tartare that was too fat to my taste and especially not cut to the knife... special mention for the rum Baba that was really delicious... here are some little things to improve but together we have had an excellent time
