1/2 Roll Japanese And Sushi Roll

Great food with well sized portions. The oil was fresh and the tempura wasn't greasy. They are losing points on service. Long waits for tea and water.

1/2 Roll opened not too long ago and is situated on Main street off King Edward St. We were actually planning on going to Hawker's Delight, but because that was quite packed and it didn't seem like it had air conditioning, my friend suggested we go across the street for some sushi. 1/2 Roll used to be Itadakimasu, which is where the sushi in cute little balls (that were surfacing on my Instagram) came from. Unfortunately, I never had a chance to try Itadakimasu and now it has probably changed owners and is now known as 1/2 Roll. As their name says it, this sushi restaurant allows you to order half rolls, which I think is quite nice. If you're just going with one other person (like I did), then that allows you to have more variety. However, it didn't seem like their menu was promoting the 1/2 roll concepts as when the menu came, I totally forgot that we could order half rolls.

Excellent food. Best sashimi salad I've had so far. The Salmon Oshi (as others recommended) Is a must-try. Had the Bara Chirashi bowl and Chicken Katsu bowl. Both were amazing. I think this place is high quality. Will return.

Love it!! Lunch sushi boxes are a great value and they only use wild sockeye salmon for sashimi, nigiri and grilled. The owner is super friendly and quality of food is very fresh! We visit this restaurant at least once a week!
