Au Vieux Mignon

Six of us had an evening meal here in July 2016. We ate in the courtyard area, and were really impressed with the cuisine and value. We chose options from the 16.50 Euro menu and really enjoyed the Farci poitevin starter and the bavette main course was tender, juicy and had a delicious sauce. A couple of us then fely obliged to try the dessert du jour, a perfect tarte aux pommes. The wine list offered plenty of choice and prices were very reasonable. Service was very good and I would throughly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an excellent meal on a budget.

We had just finished a long day hike in the Marais Poitevin, and really needed a place to grab dinner before an hour long drive. Au Vieux Mignon was the right restaurant in the right place at the right time, at a very reasonable price! We try to eat vegetarian, so generally in smaller French towns the restaurants have limited options Au Vieux Mignon was no different. But AVM has a range of pizzas, which fit the bill for us perfectly. The service was excellent and friendly, and they were even completely relaxed about us tracking in a bunch of mud from our hike. We would definitely stop in here again next time we come through St. Hilaire.

Après une balade en barque, nous avons été accueillis chaleureusement dans le restaurant. Le jeune patron est très aimable, le service impeccable. Nous avons mangé des plats de qualité, que du fait maison ( légumes, anguilles et grenouilles).Menu enfant très correct à 7 euros.Nous avons déjeuné en terrasse mais l intérieur est très agréable aussi ( grande salle et patio).En résumé une très bonne adresse à recommander!

Habitant la même commune ... je m'y suis présenté plusieurs fois en compagnie d'amis mais la dernière fois le café est arrivé en même temps que le dessert en terrasse sûrement pour nous faire comprendre que il était temps de partir alors qu'il était vraiment pas tard ... j'en ai parlé quand le patron m'a demandé si nous étions content et il m'a répondu que c'était son serveur ... heu ouiii mais qui doit donner les directives à son serveur normalement ??? ... du coup pas retourné dans cet endroit encore dommage on y mangeait pas mal .. à refaire un jour pour voir ???

Restaurant sans prétention au centre du village les pizzas sont bonnes et ma fille c'est régalé. service agréable mais sans plus.... bonne adresse de passage
