Lunch with a friend who had booked. we were called anglais by the manager. that is not really the way to welcome paying customers. the rindburger was dry and overcooked. reduce the menu and specialize in what they do best, which is obvious 't bark. burger
They are very proud of their Limousin beef (rightly so), and offer all sorts of beef focussed menus. And they are excellent. But if you're not a great carnivore, don't despair, there's a lot of variety on their menus, all, copious, very well prepared and extraordinarily...good value. The setting is fine not the sort of place you'd take a client you wanted to impress, or someone with whom you wanted to enjoy a romantic evening. But we find it an absolutely brilliant stop for a splendid, good value, quickly served lunch halfway between Toulouse and Paris. It's justifiably very popular with the locals, so you MUST book!
We asked the warm and friendly waitress about the purchase of food and she proudly replied that everything came out of the farm, except the ice. They deserve to be proud of their Limousin cattle, it is excellent, and fully just the big show. on a wall, the agricultural awards for their high standards. I don't know what vegetarians would come here, it's a carnivorous paradise. the kalb was excellent, and the plate of the variety of puddings was a joy at the sea. well worth slipping the a20 on our way to home
This was a really unexpected little gem. We were on a long motorway journey down to the south of France and wanted something a bit different from the usual motorway cafe fare. This place is only a couple of minutes drive off the motorway ...but it is very much worth it! It is clearly designed for a regular lunchtime French clientele (it is not open many evenings) and I was not expecting great things, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I had beef carpaccio and chips lovely and fresh, with a very generous portion of beef, and my husband had a delicious king prawn and scallop dish which was presented in a manner which would not have looked out of place in a michelin star restaurant. We rounded the meal off with a cafe gourmand each a coffee with 3 mini desserts, 2 of which were delicious and one of which was OK. We had 3 glasses of house wine between us, and the whole bill came to less than 30 euros! Unbelievably good value, and for that reason I have given it 5 stars, despite the fact that the dining room itself is somewhat sterile.
