Bidrage med feedbackThis little jewel in St George sur Loire was a pleasant surprise. We were pleasantly greeted by a young server and accompanied by the kitchen to the historic main dining room with exposed beams, colorful tile floor and an old clock. It was a Tuesday and only a few other customers were present. We had a delicious pate de canard, Omelettes and Desserts. We were very bad and ate île flottante and profiteroles. Delicious. Lunch menu from 12.50 €. Parking next to the Mairie. Very recommended. N
Children love the pizza here said it's the best they ever had. Restaurant is a little outdated, but another friendly owner. Big Friday evening Family dinner
As we traveled through France, we believed and found ourselves on Saint-Georges-sur-Loire to stretch our legs and have a look. When it was lunchtime, we decided to try La Tete Noire, which advertised a formula for €12. To our surprise we found ourselves in a large, traditional dining room with hunting scene folk art wall paintings on the walls. The very friendly waitress gave us a menu with a variety of choices, including vegetarian options. The food was delicious, good portions. The whole experience was a beautiful – and unexpected – one, and we will surely be over next time.
In the city center at the town hall (the parking is free for AN HOUR AND A HALF; We visited the Chateau de Serrant, which is just on the street and immersed for a light lunch. My wife had Lardons for a main course that was great, a friens had an omelet and another friend and I shared a pizza. From a pudding and coffee with a Pichet local red wine. The toilets are so difficult above when disabled or climbing is difficult, but they are very friendly and there is probably an acceccible below loo but first check. Telephone 02 41 39 13 12
Stopped for lunch as it looked good from outside. A very warm welcome and we were lead into a small but tradional dining room with all the tables set for lunch. We opted for the Menu du Jour which was very simple but quite splendid....I had a salad, followed by salmon followed by tarte Normande. The salad filled the plate and was made up of freshly prepared vegetables and meat really a meal in itsself. The salmon was beautifuly cooked and seasoned in a butter and herb sauce and came with vegetables. Again, a meal on its own and excellent. The tarte Normande was one of the best ever in my experience a small work of art and fantastic tesxtures and flavours. We had a bottle of water and two coffees and the cost was 30 euros unbelievable value for money for such a good meal in proper surroundings and with very warm and friendly service. Highly recommended and a reminder of how good France can be.
