Incredible experience and good eating with wine list. the environment is incredible. very come, very private, very nice and incredible service. the hotel is so beautiful that they want to stay in it and extend their experience. family loves the place.
The dining room was not large about six tables, but there are other smaller and larger dining areas in busy nights that I am sure. this restaurant is located in a landhotel, so it is 'off the beaten track ' but it was clear that it was a destination for eating. the room could add more tables, but the space of the elegance. the selection of food was seasonal and tasty. there were free appetizers before the three cursor meal and a chocolate truffle and French mascaroon after our meal served with coffee a beautiful note.
The staff was very nice and they put us in another room instead of in a room where there are more people. we had an intimate diver. the set menu is 3 courses with 3 choices for each cursor. it happens this week there. a lot of fish choice. Usually I don't like fish so much, but I tried the raie. it was good. we had a good moment. the bar area also has several servier areas, so we were not disturbed again by loud talk. the restaurant is not open on Sunday evening, Monday and Tuesday in winter.
Restaurant Louis13 is located in Domaine du Beauvois a 16th century hotel in St Etienne de Chigny. We were staying in Chinon about 45k away and this place was more than worth the drive there. We were greeted at the door and relieved of our jackets and...umbrellas, and offered a seat in the bar to enjoy an aperitif before lunch. We had a three course lunch in 'one ' of the beautiful dining rooms with a view over the garden. Service was great and the food...... I am not sure how to describe it other than simply amazing. Chef Regis Guilpain certainly knows his business. Presentation was exquisite and fresh local produce is a specialty here. We will talk about this lunch for a long time after we return to Australia. The rooms of the hotel are extremely nice. I would certainly stay there another time. If you get the opportunity do yourself a favour and visit this restaurant and hotel. Certainly gets 10/10 from us.
