Bidrage med feedbackThe entree melon and smoked duck was good, although there wasn’t much smokey taste. The plat chicken and langoustine was fair. The chicken was pretty good but they shouldn’t have bothered with the one dried out langoustine. The langoustine risotto was just OK. The dessert, cauliflower mouse, with something else, was definitely one to miss. Who ever thought cauliflower would make a good dessert? On the plus side, the staff was very helpful and the wine was good.
There simply are no words to describe staying here. You 're in a real chateau that has been converted to a modern hotel. The grounds are incredible, with a great pathway to walk around. There 's a nice size pool out front, and a comfortable dining area where you can eat inside or out. The rooms are very comfortable; the service excellent, and oh yes, I know I mentioned it 's a real live castle, so when you walk through the hall ways, you feel like you 're walking through an area hundreds of years old. This does date back to the 16th century, the time of King Louis XIII. So, lots of history along with the magnificence. If you 're visiting the area, this is a great place to treat yourself; if you live in the area, you 're probably not reading this because you speak French, but what the heck, I 'll tell you anyway. It 's a beautiful setting for weddings, or parties of any kind.
The rooms were very good and the public areas are very well decorated. The food was well presented and good quality. However the service was very disappointing in both the bar and restaurant. Too few staff !
Domaine de Beauvois was a very nice place with wonderful surroundings and stylish buildings. You enter in style and the terrace where we had drinks was really nice. As a big group we had a preset menu and I am sure this place is much better than what we experienced. The food was just average, but served in a ballroom . I would like to go back with my wife and stay to experience this place. Recommendable place with a question mark on the food.
Whilst the chateau itself is beautiful, the overall experience was very disappointing. This hotel is overpriced and overrated. We had a superior room which can only be described as tired (see photographs). There was a stale urine smell in the toilet, probably due to no working extractor fan. There was also an unpleasant, musty smell in the downstairs hallway leading to the lift. Breakfast was an experience. The room was not set for the number of guests, the only waitress was unable to cope with the volume of people, resulting in tables not being cleared and guests arriving having nowhere to sit. It is a shame, that this beautiful chateau, has to some extent lost is authenticity. Plastic flowers in the gardens demean the grandeur. In comparison with similar graded hotels that that we have stayed in, this was a great disappointment.
