Bidrage med feedbackMy husband,2 kids and I arrived to the restaurant and with no waiting staff in sight so we sat down at a table outside(maybe this was what we did wrong). A gentleman came to us(possibly the owner as I recognised his face from a publicity photo I had earlier seen on a restaurant app), I realise the importance in greeting the french by attempting some french so I said bonjour and he then appeared to take huge pleasure in telling us that we would have to wait 15min as it was his breaktime and he was having his dinner(it was 6.45pm).I said no problem we can wait, he suggested we have a drink until then, I said yes. Nobody came to take a drink orde. A lady then came over slammed a reserved sign down on our table and moved to a table next to the one we were sat gesturing us to move. When I say slammed I really mean slammed aggressively. We got up like fools and moved(my husband was hungry so I didnt want to suggest leaving). I sat at our table wondering what we had done wrong,a reacurring feeling which I felt time and time again when interacting with the french working in restaurants. She had moved us right next to a couple smoking,I dont particularly like eating next to smokers but I darent even attempt to ask to move. The lady came back to take our order I gave her the biggest over exaggerated smile I could manage, said Bonjour and proceeded to politey give her our order in as much french as I could attempt. During our meal we had to ask a younger staff member for more ketchup she was miserable and not friendly and hair tied up in a greasy mess. At the end another young blonde girl came to clear off our table, she appeared somewhat more friendly by surprisingly asking us if we enjoyed it. I said yes because my fish and chips were nice and I was not prepared to get into any further interaction with these people for fear of them being aggressive. This restaurant appeared on our camping de la vallee app which I will not be paying any further attention to.
'Very Good ' is maybe a bit too generous, but I felt that 'Average ' was too negative. We went there for dinner on the evening we arrived and we did not want to go all the way to Deauville/Trouville. The food was definitely good, as well as the atmosphere. The service was friendly but we regularly had to chase them for missing items: drinks, bread, etc. Have to admit it was very busy as well, so maybe a bit understaffed.
We enjoyed our dinner. Entrée of avocat crevettes rose was excellent was also well presented. Main dish of chicken was served with a very tasty sauce. Good wine : St Emillon . Pleasant ambience.
Thanks to the whole team; the "Menagerie" of the brewery quoted on the shore for their reception; thanks to its great mojito cocktail, stephanie for its reactivity and veronique for its kindness, that the girls we love!
Great good, everything is homemade including dessert. I had a treatment with the fat liver crunch. original, nice decor. I recommend
