Bidrage med feedbackNon-obvious eatery, tucked away on the NW corner of Cesar Chavez park. Great buffet, sell by weight food. Each day's menu is generally different, with a middle-eastern flavour (the lentil/rice dish is often served). I like the ability to order just as much as you want to eat and not an ounce more. Good takeaway cartons that you fill yourself, or plates that you can use to eat on site. Outdoor seating area is great and you don't get the hobo traffic that K St does. I like the meatballs (THursday) and the fried chicken (Friday) and the spring rolls/pot stickers are good too. No parking, but great for a lunchtime meal, in or takeaway.
After wanting to visit this place for ages, I finally made it this morning, and I’m now a devoted fan of this amazing little restaurant. Sadly, I'll only be able to enjoy breakfast here unless my work schedule changes. The vegetarian breakfast burrito is huge and kept me satisfied well into the afternoon; it's packed with fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and leaves a delightful taste that lingers on my palate. My spouse's Bagel Deluxe was quite tasty as well. They serve Peet's Coffee, which somehow tastes even better here than at an actual Peet's! The owner is incredibly friendly and provides excellent service. The fully covered outdoor dining area is a nice added bonus, and the whole space feels bright, cheerful, and inviting. I can’t wait to come back!
If you're looking for healthy and delicious Mediterranean food in downtown Sacramento, Vela Cafe is the best choice! The friendly management, affordable prices, and relaxing music make it a wonderful dining experience. I would definitely visit again and highly recommend it to vegetarians as well as lovers of lamb, beef, and salads. Outstanding customer service! Thank you!
I’m thrilled that Vela Cafe has opened its doors. They offer the best food in downtown, and the ambiance is lovely. So far, I’ve enjoyed starting my mornings there, working while having a freshly made breakfast burrito and coffee. Plus, they have free Wi-Fi! For lunch, I’ve tried their lamb gyro and recently explored the salad bar. The best part is that all their food is made fresh and tastes fantastic. I can’t forget to mention the friendly and helpful staff at Vela Cafe. In summary, if you're seeking delicious, affordable food in a clean environment, Vela Cafe is the perfect spot for you.
I recently revisited this restaurant, having been one of their original customers when they first opened. I found their breakfast burritos and bagels to be quite delicious. However, I did notice that the prices are a bit on the higher side, and the service could use some improvement in terms of speed. With the morning rush, I would expect them to have a fully staffed team ready to handle the crowd. I'm not sure how the service is during lunch, so I might be hesitant to give it a try. On a positive note, the morning staff member was very friendly and helpful.
