Bidrage med feedbackGreat place for Mexican food. We had shrimp burrito and quesadillas. Service was great here.
Once I found out there was a Top 100 Taco Spots place in Sac, I knew I had to check them out! Lucky for me, I happened to come on a Tuesday, so most of their tacos were just $2.09. I ordered two carne asada tacos and also got an al pastor taco. Both options were very good! I wish the tortillas were a little more sturdy as everything kind of fell out. The service was great, and it seemed like a very popular place, probably being a Tuesday.
Came here for lunch on a Thursday and our first impression was that their interior and outdoor patio were really nice and clean, you immediately get the sense of pride in their restaurant which is comforting and exciting. We took a bit of time to look over their huge menu and decided on a michelada with negro Modelo, their 2 cheese enchiladas plate that comes with a side of rice and beans, a ceviche tostada, their special tacos with Al pastor, pineapple, and melted cheese, a side of rice and beans, and two water cups. They gave us our number to place on our table of choosing and we headed to their soda machine and complimentary chips and salsa bar. They had lots of fresh salsas, lime wedges, sliced radishes, chopped cilantro, and diced white onion all on ice. We served ourselves chips and chose a variety of salsas to try. We sat outside on their enclosed patio since the weather was so nice. The environment was very comfortable and they did a great job creating an atmosphere that makes you feel like you're in a relaxing backyard or on a peaceful vacation rather than off a parking lot. Unfortunately, none of the salsas wowed us, but our food came quick and we quickly forgot about the salsas. The food was delicious! Their shrimp ceviche was fresh and finely chopped. The serving of ceviche on the tostada shell was extremely generous and topped with beautifully fresh avocado slices. Only surprise was there were carrots in the ceviche, not complaining was just unique. Their enchiladas were amazing. Filled with plenty of creamy white cheese and the red sauce taste perfect. Best enchiladas I've had in the Sacramento area hands down. Their beans were flavorful and topped with yummy melted cheese. Their rice was more of a chicken broth rice vs a tomato based rice, but it was still fluffy and good. Their special tacos were very indulgent and tasted reminiscent of a Canadian bacon and pineapple pizza. Looking forward to coming back and trying more of their delicious dishes.
I really do not know how this restaurant is so highly rated. The service was good but the food was not. I ordered the Chile relleno plate. It came with rice and beans. Sadly, the flavor of the food was nasty. It tasted like cleaner. Like the cleaner they use to clean the counters and tables. Other than that flavor, the rice and beans were simply not good. It did not taste like authentic Mexican style rice and beans. I also did not like the flavor of the Chile relleno. Too much batter. Not enough flavor. The choices of salsas at the salsa bar also did not have good flavor. This was my first time trying the place, and I won't be back for the food. Although I may be back for a michelada!
