Waldhotel Fletschhorn - Saas-Grund

We spontaneously decided to spend a weekend at the Waldhotel Fletschhorn and were extremely satisfied. We had an ideal room with everything one could need such as a balcony view of the valley and surrounding mountains in the middle of the forest, a large bathtub and much more. The service was very friendly, courteous and humorous. The food is a highlight that spreads a good mood in the morning and in the evening. The hotel is ideal for those who want to enjoy a quiet and relaxed atmosphere and enjoy hiking in the Swiss Alps. We had an ideal room with everything you might need from a balcony view onto the valley below and the surrounding mountains in the middle of the forest, a grand bathtub, and much more. The service was very friendly, courteous, and humorous. The food is a highlight that provides you with a splendid mood in the morning and evening. The hotel is suitable for anyone who wants to spend a calm and unconstrained atmosphere+ loves to discover the Swiss alps. Nearby activities: Ebike tour to the glacial lakes see photos Fellsee. Food drinks: Excellent wine from a large wine cellar.

We have been vacationing in Saas Fee for over 10 years and were still in the Hotel Fletschhorn. On August 1st we took the first walk to the hotel. It was said to be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. When we got there everything looked pretty deserted and run down. Unkept terrace with a lot of weeds between the interlocking stones, deserted, no staff, no decoration, no guests, as if it were closed. We walked in and shyly asked reception if we could get a coffee and dessert. The woman at the reception didn't understand German well, was rather unfriendly at first and then finally served us two espressos on the terrace. We also got two cheesecakes, one thawed, the other still frozen and not really edible. The first impression is decisive and for us it was anything but pleasant, this hotel didn't deserve 4 stars in terms of service for us. It's a shame, because with Markus Nef and his team it was a top address, just like the Spielboden restaurant. I don't think we will visit this restaurant again. Walkability: Reachable from Wildi on the forest footpath in approx. 15'.
