Bidrage med feedbackThe Ristorante Da Toni in Saarbrücken is one of the old Italians. Those who have developed the Mainz road, which is so gradually moving towards Gastromeile (from the chef to the good-bourgeois restaurant and snack is all represented) know that it is not always easy to park there, but it works with some luck. The Da Toni looks bright and friendly inside, the tables covered in the colors pink and white (substance napkins!) harmonize very nicely with the bright yellow painted walls, on which beautiful photos (which the service should at least align at once) hang. Everything is clean, even the wet rooms. The service is intrusive, competent and friendly, the menu is extensive and offers something for as good as any guest. And who really should not find anything there can still choose one of the recommendations advertised on several wall panels. The waiting times for food and drinks are acceptable. Here you can also feel comfortable in a larger round. I have chosen from the menu today: as an appetizer Stracciatella Romana (meat broth with egg, cheese and herbs) and as a main dish Calamari marinara (grilled squid with garlic, onions and herbs; as a supplement pasta and salad plate). The Straccialella was excellent, the main dish was good. Here I was annoyed that this dish, although tomatoes as components were not mentioned here as in other dishes, was strong tomato resistant. Who knows me knows that I have been scaring tomato since childhood; the kitchen had no idea, of course, but at this menu position there would be a hint of tomatoes, as practiced in other dishes, but it would have been appropriate and I would then simply have chosen another dish. Unfortunately, I had to put everything tomato (five greededed cocktail tomatoes and other tomato fragments) as well as to the edge of the plate. The squid was very tasty, bite-resistant and yet tender and well seasoned, the pasta were al dente prove bite-resistant; the rather imaginary salad plate is not worth mentioning. Addendum: On 19.11. we ate here at noon. This time we were operated by Piero; accurate, friendly, but very withdrawn. The only small manko: the recommendations for the day were to be read on wall slate boards, the lunch table offer only outside on a folding table next to the entrance and to our demand Piero was uninformed and had to walk outside to report to us afterwards. This is an absolute unding; the service must, of course, inform itself at the beginning of the service about the lunch court and not until it is asked to make itself smart. We have ordered the lunch offer Scaloppine alla crema (EUR 7,50) as well as from the standard card Linguine allo Scoglio (EUR 13,50) and from the special card of rose mushroom dishes Risotto Porcini (EUR 12,50). Karlsberg was drunk Urpils, Panache and Coca Cola. As a greeting from the kitchen came a bowl with inlaid green and black olives, all dekerned, and a basket with white bread; nothing great but fine. The Rahmschnitzel was very well cut and well roasted, the salad plate (various pickle salads, cucumber and tomato) had a pleasant dressing and the pasta (spaghetti) served as a supplement were exactly al dente. The Risotto was excellent and on fresh mushrooms had not been saved; very fine. The linguins were just like the spaghetti to the schnitzel bissfest and the associated marine animal (scampo, baby-octopus, shrimps, mussels, ink-fusch-tuben and arms) was abundantly represented and very nicely cooked. The slightly too thin sauce was very well tuned with garlic and spices and Scampo, a number of Scampi, is here really Scampo (either Nephros norvegicus speaks Kaisergranat or Metanephros spp.) and not as often to be found as Scampi declared mogel cloves (mostly Penaeus moniodon or Litopenaeus vannam. speak White or Black Tiger. It would have been nice if the Scampo pen had already been easily broken in the kitchen (there is a slight squeezing between thumb and index finger), the back would have cut slightly and removed the intestine instead of leaving it to the guest in hope that he can. Well, I could have gothic. From the price/performance ratio, the lunch offer was really very good and the prices of the other two dishes were fine. I have nothing to change at my last visit; everything remains as it was.

I chose today from the menu: as an appetizer Stracciatella Romana (meat broth with egg, cheese and herbs) and as a main dish Calamari Marinara (drilled with garlic, onions and herbs; as a supplement pasta and salad plate). The Straccialella was excellent, the main dish was good. Here I was annoyed that this dish, although tomatoes were not mentioned here as components, as in other dishes, was strongly tomato resistant. I hesitate to let our TripAdvisor family know about this place because it was so good. I hate to see a good place overrun. Dinner in the outdoor courtyard on a pleasant summer evening with accompanying internet streaming classic jazz was absolutely wonderful. The service was great and the pasta dishes were delicious. We had the sardine salad for two as a starter and we were not disappointed. Prices are reasonable. This is an excellent choice for Italian dining in Saarbrucken.
I went here 3-4 times (it is located very close to where I live now), but was quite disappointed all but one time (when I had a decent lunch with minestrone and some steak, I think). The food is not really good (pasta overcooked, sauces not nice, appetizers taste like for a supermarket, pizza as it is coming from Pizza hut) and the service is not great (instead of pasta with asparagus, we have got pasta plate with only green olives in it and basically no sauce. What's that? Do you really call it a decent pasta? guess they ran out of asparagus and thought it is green as well. No sorries or anything). I gave it a number of chances (given the location and seemingly the popularity), so not planning to go there in the nearest future.
