They had a selection of bitters and cask ales. I had a piny of Wainwright and my wife a half shandy. The staff were very friendly. There was a fire blazing and we accessed their wifi as there was no cellular reception in the area while we enjoyed our drinks. We did not eat, but the menu looked nice although the prices were a bit steep for such an isolated location. They also have three double rooms that are ridiculously expensive, running between £200 and £220 per night in mid-February. The village is quiet and absolutely beautiful with old rock buildings and cottages as well as a creek running from the old church at the top of the hill through the small valley that surrounds Hutton-le-Hole. We visited for dinner after a trip to the folke museum. The setting in the village is beautiful. We all really enjoyed all our meals and would definitely visit again when in the area and recommend to others. Very happy that it was dog friendly too.
Stayed in cropton lodges with the family found the crown on trip advisor 110% recommend this place for food it was delicious and they was extremly friendly even had board games for the kids which was a breath of fresh air from there video games. Highly recommended
We had sandwiches they were lovely, staff attentive but not intrusive would recommend for lunch. Beef sandwiches were great
From the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left everything was superb. The staff are excellent, the surroundings are great, the beer/cider selection is very good but absolutely the best of all is the food. Steak pie and chips, sausage and mash, veg and filo pie…..all of them were superb. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone else.
