Black Swan - Ryedale

Drove down for a day trip out on Sunday. Stopped off for a drink initially. But the pub/Hotel is gorgeous. Decided to stay for lunch. Going to book the end of the month to stay over. Staff were supper nice. Food is outstanding. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5

The location of hotel to the town centre is absolutely beautiful overlooking the historic Feversham estate. This hotel is one of the very few dog friendly hotels in this area, however this is not made clear on the website so anyone with allergies to dog's Becareful when reading their website it indicates that the areas are designated for dogs, however: all the rooms have had dogs in them, the restaurant allows dogs entry so having designated areas is not specific. The menu leaves a lot to be desired with very little to choose for those of us with a varied pallet. Breakfast leaves anyone with travel experience a little disappointed with cold mushrooms very little beans with the overall aesthetic presentation pretty much if an anticlimax to the overnight stay. Will we come back? No!! The price doesn't reflect the in the service offered Rooms: Cosy!! Tight, small, no fridge. Rooms: 3 Service: 3 Location: 5

The beer garden here is lovely. The decor of the building is done tastefully and is a bit quirky as there are many separate rooms, however this does mean that the bars can get quite crowded and busy. I enjoyed my food here too, bit pricey but isn't everywhere these days!!!!! Service: 4 Location: 5

Had a great stay at the Black Swan over the August Bank Holiday weekend. We stayed Sunday night with our little dog . Our room was very comfortable , tastefully furnished . A good size bedroom , bathroom had a bath with shower over . Very clean . We had a meal on the sunday night , plenty of areas to eat with our dog in the hotel , spacious outside garden . We were lucky to be able to park in the hotel carpark Perfect location in the centre of Helmsley All the staff we encountered were very helpful , polite friendly Food was very tasty , good selection at breakfast as well cooked breakfast , cereals , toast pastries etc We will definitely stay again Rooms: Our room was a good size , everything we needed was available. Very comfortable bed , nice size bathroom with shower over the bath. Very clean Food drinks: Had an evening meal which we both enjoyed .
