Several gluten free options on menu including fish chips and onion rings. 1 gf and vegan starter and 1 gf and vegan main course. Staff was very helpful and knowledgable included knowing the ingredients of the gf batter, tartare sauce etc and also said they would check to make sure

My husband and I visited The Boathouse for lunch. We live locally but had not been here. The location, overlooking the Solent and next to Puckpool Park, is ideal. The staff are lovely and the food good quality and reasonably priced.

We had a great time during our visit and the staff was extremely courteous.

The restaurant is beautifully furnished with small, cozy dining areas. We received a friendly welcome from the bar staff upon arrival and were seated at our table. However, the waitress made a mistake when taking our order, resulting in our food being incorrect when it arrived. Despite this, we chose not to complain as it was a special occasion. The food was average, with small portion sizes and higher prices. Overall, there are better restaurants in the area.

We arrived for a birthday celebration and were told that a couple of dishes off the standard menu were not available, so all that was left was sausage and mash, burgers etc, and we don 't eat this food at home. We were also told there was no chicken what chicken? as there was none on the menu. What I presume was the specials board had 'happy christmas ' on it. We drank our drinks and left there are so many more places to eat we will NOT be making a return journey and I would most definitely not recommend, and put it down to a bad experience.
