Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant offers high-quality meat and generous portion sizes. However, the menu is limited and rarely changes. It is very formal and expensive, but they do have reasonably priced 2 or 3 course specials. The views of the 18th hole on the east coast are fantastic, making it a great spot for special occasions.
This is a cheaper menu than the main dining restaurant but since we have 3 teenage kids it is more suitable. Burgers and fries £16.50) for them. I had a decent strip loin steak £22). Excellent wine list and reasonably priced. The service was 10/10 but the room was otherwise empty which was a shame although we made our own fun. As it was my birthday a little cake thing and candle was brought out which was a nice touch. I thought it was very good value.
As hospitality professionals, my colleagues and I truly value a warm and welcoming atmosphere, which was exactly what we received from our host, Govind. We were greeted with champagne upon arrival and treated to a truly inventive and delicious dinner - a rare treat for a vegetarian like myself. The house red wine was fabulous and the additional special touches made our experience all the more enjoyable. It was actually my birthday the week before, and it was lovely that it was acknowledged upon arrival with a spectacular birthday plate. The setting at Wentworth was beautiful, the food was exquisite, and the service from Govind and Celia was impeccable - friendly yet not overbearing. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.
I have been a member for 15 years and unfortunately. the quality has been going downhill. Lunch is a far better option than dinner, particularly if you can sit outdoors and enjoy the view. Having said that, the lower prices on the lunch menu shouldn't justify a drop in standards. The dinner menu tries too hard. If you don't like game, seafood or exotic dishes, you are going to have a tough time. On our last visit, we ended up having to get up and leave. The Child menu was gone. Despite the Club offering burgers in the bar, the manager wouldn't allow the younger ones to have the burger (and yet having the Grill food in the bar was OK). My wife simply wanted grilled fish. The head Chef came to the table but wasn't willing to accommodate any option other than what was on the menu. We certainly won't be going back for dinner. For the best food in Virginia Water, head to La Piazzetta, the n.1 on tripadvisor. Alternatively, for a more upmarket setting, Casa Nova is a close second.
Visited the Grill after a recent major renovation of the Club. Went with high expectations after enjoying many nice visits to the previous Grill. It had been my favourite restaurant venue. The new offering fell well short of expectations with a very limited choice of menu and expensive prices. Cheap furniture and amateur staff. Struggling to see why we would choose this place again when there are so many lovely places nearby at reasonable cost.
