Bidrage med feedbackWe had a family dinner at Hamilton's. Viranjan and Sherene opened the restaurant specially for us on a Sunday and prepared a buffet that included some dishes my mother had requested. My favorites were the cashew nuts curry, coconut sambol, and pineapple curry. The restaurant was welcoming and even had a little something extra for our birthday celebration. We found the fee for exclusive use of the restaurant along with the buffet per head to be very reasonable, and everyone enjoyed their meal, except for the birthday child who is already asking when we can come back! The service and atmosphere were perfect for us, and I am grateful for the effort they put into making our experience enjoyable.
They are supposed to pre-book, but the owner lets us kindly in a cold, very rainy night. we were grateful that we were just flew from France with a hungry year old in tow. pleasure to say we (and the small child) were good for...with a wonderful buffet of sri lanka eating. everything was nicely cooked, with a large selection of delicate and spicy aromas. we were additionally served in a somewhat old-fashioned way by the owner himself, which felt special to us. the chef even brought out a few simple chickens and chips for the little one, and there was a lot of milk for him when he unintentionally cost a little chili jam! all in all, hamilton’s was a lucky and deserves success.
On Friday and Saturday evening the sri Lanka buffet is served. After visiting with family who traveled around sri lanka, they have confirmed that this is an authentic experience. the food is excellent, freshly cooked and delicious. this small and intimate restaurant is family...run, the service is attentive and they have the opportunity to talk to the cook. I would recommend a visit.
I recently visited Hamilton's in Chertsey, Surrey during my trip to London. I was welcomed by a lovely Sri Lankan couple who made sure my room and attached bathroom were clean and well-equipped with all necessary amenities. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. For breakfast, I enjoyed a delicious spread including orange juice, toast, eggs, bacon, grilled mushrooms, and more. The dinner was also prepared Sri Lankan style and was fantastic. I highly recommend Hamilton's for a peaceful holiday getaway. While it is a bit outside of the city, there are transportation options nearby such as trains and buses, as well as a shopping center for convenience. I would definitely return to Hamilton's on my next visit to London.
On the positive side great and friendly service. The restaurant is small and has a nice atmosphere and very clean and tastefully decorated. We were first served a small hors d'oeuvre and then shown the buffet which had a good selection of curries and side...dishes. We did not have wine but had Sri Lankan beer and other drinks which were reasonably priced. The hors d'oeuvre were poor, I would assume straight out of a freezer packet. None of or party had a good thing to say. The curries were OK, one of our party loved the chicken. We all agreed that the star of the show had to be the side dishes, the beans and the salads were outstanding. Would I go back? probably not.
