Bidrage med feedbackWent here for coffee and carrot cake..I thought £3.35 for a slice of cake was pretty steep..especially when you can buy a whole one for under £3..also the cutlery could of been alot cleaner..friendly enough staff but prices and cleanliness needs to be looked at.
Tines are wrong on here it's gone 4 and cafe shut. So out the shop and straight over to get my stuff at m&s
Went in for a sausage roll and a cup of coffee, paid £5,40 roll wasnt buttered and fell apart at 1st bite so couldn’t eat, Sausages were microwaved and so weren’t nice. Wont be back
Never been before but thought we’d give it a go. They sell breakfast rolls, Jacket potatoes, tea cakes, scones, cake. Not a huge variety but sufficient. They also claim to serve Costa coffee and drinks come in Costa cups. So we ordered 2 tea cakes, a slice of cake, a tea and a cappuccino. Ordering required patience as the lady was busy and kept popping out the back and returning. We asked what the cake was and we got a long hashed sentence basically saying it was either lemon, lime, orange or something else. It looked orange and tasted orange but the lady insisted after that it was actually lemon and lime… who who knows. The cake was nice and light. Not the best cake ever but good enough. The tea cakes were toasted perfectly for me. My friend thought they needed toasting more but I pointed out that whilst the one side was less done, the other was on the verge of being too brown, so any longer and it would be burned on the one side. She then agreed they were done well. The butter that came with them was rock solid having been in a fridge, so we sandwiched the butter in the tea cake to get it to melt. The two butters we found was not enough. We made do but probably could have done with 3. Tea cakes were standard, so fine. Not as good as the Teacakes in Sainsburys cafe, but sufficient. The cappuccino was in now way a normal Costa one. It was very sweet and weaker. I thought it tasted like a pre-mix type coffee. It wasn’t great but wasn’t horrific. Just not Costa. The tea was just tea. No tea spoons though. Just wooden sticks to stir with. We went back up to the desk to ask about tea spoons but the lady never came back to the till so we gave up (we did later spot a doorbell on the counter so had we seen it, we probably should have rang that). Overall it wasn’t bad. I’d maybe go again. Coffee defo better at the actual Costa a short walk away. We also found we couldn’t use our Costa card here so lost out on Costa points we would have had if we went to the actual Costa. Was good value though for what we had. It was an improvement on our expectations.
We stopped for a cream tea towards the end of the day around an hour before they closed and the assistant really didn't want to serve us, made clear by her attitude. She was quite rude and the Rodda clotted cream for the cream tea was either frozen or past it's best. When we asked for another one she brought over one that had been microwaved and was runny around the edges with a hard lump in the middle. No apology, very bad attitude. We will go elsewhere next time.
