I hope one day you will get lost in the fields of the province of Cuneo, you will bump into Ristorante Gusti e Sapori and you will have time to stop by at Balestrone’s family. This family-run restaurant offers the best of tastes “gusti” and flavours “sapori” of the South Piedmont region, with a focus on the Cuneo province, which is the Fritto Misto Alla Piemontese. It is a rich, traditional gourmet specialty that consists of a wide range of ingredients both sweet and savoury , which have been dipped in eggs and then breaded before being deep-fried until nicely colored and crispy. What struck me is the deep-frying technique: every single piece is deep-fried individually in a sauce pan with sunflower oil. The result is that you can eat it in big quantity without getting the sickening effect; it is also very easily digestible. You can see in pics a mix of meat and offal, chicken croquettes, fish and seafood, porcini mushrooms, semolina fritters, amaretti di Monbaruzzo, and various types of vegetables and fruits such as apples, pears, zucchini, eggplants, and artichokes. At the end, there will also be a round of dessert with cookies, cakes and biscuits: deep-fried, of course. Ideally wash everything down with a glass of local red wine, like we did with a good Barbera D’Alba. If you book in advance, you can have the chance to do the “All you can eat Fritto Misto” and have the chance to taste a bit of everything in unlimited quantity. Definitely go for this. The environmental is friendly and laid-back with the staff always hanging around the tables to check that everything is ok and have a quick chat. Unforgettable experience.

We celebrated our wedding on August. the restaurant has a very nice room and a large garden. very cozy and well maintained. the flagship of the structure are the owners oscar and davide. are two exceptional, friendly, capable and lovers of their work. the staff was great, kind, helpful and attentive to the needs of people sitting at the table. The kitchen is excellent, high quality food, well-kept dishes, wide choice of wines. We decided to spend in this property on the day of the wedding and could not make better choice! thanks to all the staff, you are fantastic! Morena and luca.
