Bidrage med feedbackThe hostess and our waiter (Michael) were awesome. They were very friendly and accommodating. However, the drinks and food seemed to take a bit long considering there wasn't an extreme number of people at the restaurant. Food was just okay. I ordered an additional meal to go for my mom and the fish was way overcooked. She didn't enjoy or finish her meal which was a let down and waste of money.
I was pretty excited to try the Grand Tower seafood dish. When it arrived it was quite underwhelming. 1 King Crab Leg, 1 Lobster Tail, a bunch of shrimp, 4 prawns, some underwhelming crab cocktail, 10-15 mussels, 10ish clams, and a bunch of oysters...for $150 it was very disappointing. More crab and Lobster would have maybe made up for it. The place had a grimy feel and smell to it and the seat we were at was kind strange. There were 5 of us and we had to scoot around the corner since the one side was blocked by other patrons who also appeared to be in awkward positions. Menus felt gross and the table felt and smelled gross like it had been wiped with a stinky cloth without enough sanitizer. Service was ok but it took a LONG time for the tower to come out and no refills on pop were offered but I did eventually ask and got one. A piece of cake was randomly brought out and plopped in front of me. I had no idea what it was. Our waiter came back and took it away. We were celebrating my birthday so my first feeling was that they were giving a piece of cake but it was so unceremoniously dumped in front of me that it felt even worse when they came to take it back. It did make it back though because apparently it was supposed to have a candle. It was a nice gesture but then they had it on the bill. I feel if I hadn't checked the bill I would have been charged for it. Overall, it was a disappointing experience that I had been really looking forward to. Not sure if I'd be back to this place. Especially with the exchange rate it ended up being a $350 meal. Not heir fault for the exchange but I could find a lot better meals and service for that much elsewhere.
Very disappointed that we went for the grand seafood tower and they said they couldn't do it! That was the whole reason for driving 40 minute past dozens of restaurants to go there...next time Detroit fish house 5 minutes away $1.50 happy hour oysters $3.50 normal price we will not be back!
Initially sat us at the tall booth in corner and then sat a high chair at the end. The high chair was 2 feet from the table and in the aisle. When I asked to be moved she said the other 4 4-tops were reserved. I told her that I also had a reservation and indicated I needed a high chair in the comments. She balked at first but rearranged the tables and moved us. Our waiter was very efficient and pleasant. The food was delicious.
I enjoyed my dinner there, however service was very slow and not very attentive. Also, the people next to us brought their Shitzhu Dog and sat him on the shared bench of the seating area. Glad my son was not with me as he is highly allergic to dogs. I am not sure if it was a “service dog” but I personally do not agree with animals in a food service establishment.
