Bidrage med feedbackWe arrived after 1pm on a public holiday, the car park was full and the place was buzzing. We asked for a table and were told at least 1 hour wait. We gave our names and the waitress found her sister who spoke a little english, who then directed us to where we could go for walk. So up the hill we went for some cold fresh air and a look around at the landscape. Now to wait an hour at a busy place, is pretty normal, but to have such great landscape to keep you entrained was even better. An hour wait in dirty street in a city is a long wait, but an hour in the open, Italian hills is not long at all. On our way back down we were drawn to a family walking a great dane/mastif cross, for that don 't know it is a massive dog but gentle and calm (great dane personality) and we got to talking, They were keen on lunch and were heading to the same place. By the time we got there we were laughing together in our broken italian english. On arrival our table was ready, but for two, my husband explained that we were now 6. They said 10 minutes and in 10 minutes we were seated upstairs. Very accommodating indeed, given they were very busy! No menu was presented and but we ordered a plate of meats to share, gnocci and wild boar pasta, all to share. The service was fair for the number of people there, no good but no bad either. We had been told they have the best cheese gnocci in the country , I am not so sure. It was very good, yes, but I guess food is like art.... what is the best in the world for someone is not for another. It was good, it was tasty, the cheese is mixed into the potatoe gnocci, so don 't go expecting it smothered in cheese. I would order it again for sure, but as far as giving it the title of best in the country? We had a great time with our new friends, eating, drinking and sharing! Afterwards we had some blueberry liqueur. Now this you must try.... it is not available in the shops, it is only available for consumption here but boy oh boy is it great, complete with blue berries! Cost wise, we do not know as we never saw a menu and our new friends paid for us. Very kind of them!
We arrived about 2pm with no booked table so the welcome was not really warm, but I can understand it. Food and place amazing. I will come back for sure!
We enjoyed a lovely drive up from Verona and enjoyed a wonderful lunch by the open fireplace the food Antipasto, homemade pasta canederli, The price was reasonable. And the grappa at the end was perfect
Very attractive and welcoming interior just right after a walk in the cold. Tables outside for warmer days too. Very pleasant and efficient service and good menu much better than you sometimes find in similar places. First courses were excellent and generous. Meat dishes didn't disappoint and the vegetables were fresh and tasty. I'd been once before several years before but this was a good surprise
Ottimo tagliere, buona birra, e una splendida vista!
