The staff were amazing, enjoyed the food and loved the band. Keep up what you're doing all as you left our family with lovely memories.
Stopped in here after a long day hiking glendalough with my family, immediately was welcomed by Jannette one of the co-owners, she was friendly and welcoming, and when taking our order had no issue with the dietary requests of the kids, she kindly informed me that the chicken burger was out of stock for the youngest but when i asked if we could get a bun with chicken tenders to make one she was more than delighted to oblige, she chatted with me everytime i went to get a drink at the bar, and was friendly and witty, the food was absolutely fantastic, i had the badboy burger which was better than any burger ive had in Dublin at specialist restaurants that claim to have the best, my partner had the hake which was beautifully beer battered, and the eldest had a vegetarian option of their Vartry special (no tenders and an extra mushroom and onion ring), all meals came with a gorgeous side salad healthy dollop of coleslaw, the meal was finished off with a divine bit of Rhubarb Crumble. Everything tasted fresh and both kids said it was their favourite food they've had and already are asking when we can go back.
Myself and the missus went here for food today as we were on the way up to Glendalough. We both went for the roast of the day which was chicken. We both got a glass of coke. The chicken came with peas, carrots, gravy and mashed potato. The food was nice and the barman was funny. Food was reasonably priced aswell.
Well you have to visit as its the highest pub in the highest village in Ireland ...what more do you need Great local bar with Irish trad music on Sundays very clean bar good selection of food family owned . If you visit on the first Saturday in July I am told they hold the greatest Charity BBQ ever organised by the local hunting club .
I wasn 't really expecting a lot from the vegetarian food but chose the vegan 'special ' option instead of the Margerita pizza which would have been frozen. It was a good effort but wasn 't great ate all my chips though!
